Welcome
to Stogumber Church of England Primary School. We are a Voluntary Controlled
Church of England school serving the local community of Stogumber and
beyond. We are federated with Crowcombe Primary School.
Stogumber
is located at the foot of the Quantock Hills in an area renowned for
its natural beauty. The school is about 12 miles from Taunton.
The
school has two classes. Both classrooms are well equipped and the school
has a well-stocked library and a good ratio of networked computers.
The
school offers a wide range of opportunities, both during and after school,
including football, computers, trips, visits and residentials. We have
excellent links with our community, especially the church.
Our
school values and respects each person as an individual. We aim to develop
each child into a well achieving, mature, independent learner.
Our
Ofsted report in January 2007 commented that "good teaching, supported
by strong relationships, a good curriculum and effective assessment,
underpins good learning."
We
meet the statutory requirements of the National Curriculum whilst taking
into account the needs of the children and the rich stimulus of our
local area. Our teaching is based on the resources and talents that
we have around us. We feel that this gives special opportunities to
our children to learn in an exciting, stimulating way.
Most
of all we see learning as a partnership between family and school which
enriches and benefits each child during their time with us.
Please
do not hesitate to contact me should you require any further information
about the school.
